Bike ist der letzte Track des Debut-Albums. Seine Besonderheiten sind gleich zwei:
1. Es werden in den letzten 1,5 Minuten des Tracks schräge Musique Concrete Effekte geliefert, die von widerhallenden Schritten, Uhren bis zu Entengeplapper reicht. Sehr Avantgardistisch, das Ganze! .... und irgendwann werden wir viele dieser Effekte auf späteren Alben wieder hören!
2. Überzeugt Barrett hier textlich mit einer gefinkelten Reim-Metrik, die in zahlreichen Büchern diskutiert wurde!

Some rhyme, some ching, most of them are clockwork.

Das Lied beginnt abrupt und mit relativ schneller Rhythmik. Im Laufe des Liedes wird jede Strophe in etwas geringerer Geschwindigkeit gespielt. In der letzten Strophe stimmt Wright an Backgroundvocals mit ein.
Eines ist der Song aber ganz bestimmt: eine typische Barrett-Komposition. Deshalb schaffte es der Song auch auf die Compilations "Relics", "Echoes - The Best of Pink Floyd" (immer als letzter Song) und "An Introduction to Syd Barrett". Auf der 2001 Compilation "Echoes" wurde "originellerweise" zu Beginn des Songs eine Fahrradklingel hineingemixt...
Live ist lediglich der Auftritt beim Games for May Konzert am 12.05.1967 dokumentiert, da hieß der Song allerdings noch "Bicycle". Am 21. Mai 1967 wurde es unter dem Namen "The Bike Song" für das Debüt-Album aufgenommen.
Ein Video für das Belgische Fernsehen 1968 wurde 2016 in der Early Years 1965-1972 Box; 1968 Germination veröffentlicht.
